GORDON SYRON is the most important Urban Aboriginal Artist in Australia. This exhibition of powerful paintings remembers the dead from all wars. The paintings reference Australians sent overseas to be murdered in wars which had little to do with Australia but substantially deal with the war that has been waged continuously against Australia's indigenous people since 1788. The indigenous people were over run and had their lives ended and stolen in wars that have been acknowledged by few Australians. This exhibition is about the horrors of war and the survival of the world's oldest culture against all odds. Join us at the opening of this exhibition the day before ANZAC day and ponder the brutality and futility of WAR. Australia may have been forged into a thriving western "civilisation" but at what cost: 'FOR THE DEAD ARE MANY'
