The Alliance Française organisation began in Paris in 1883, as a means to promoting French culture and language to the world. Twenty three years ago, the organisation ran it’s first French Film Festival, a festival which runs for five weeks within the year to six cities in Australia.
This years festival boasts such special guests as Rémi Bezançon (A Happy Event, The First Day of the Rest of Your Life and Ma vie en l’air), Mia Hansen-Løve (Goodbye First Love, Father of My Children and Tout est pardonné) and the iconic French singer/actress/Director Jane Birkin (Cannabis, Blow Up and Boxes).
The festival opens in Sydney on the sixth of March with a special screening of a Cannes festival favourite, Declaration of Love at Palace Verona, Paddington and the International Premiere of Paris-Manhattan at Palace Norton Street, Leichardt.
